The Politics of Friendship in the Post-Christian West

David JASPER, University of Glasgow, UK

Abstract:

The “post-Christian” West holds the weakness of Christian “caritas” at its cultural core. Beyond the age of metaphysics and in a global culture, we may learn afresh the negotiations and power of friendship – a politics of openness to the other as a positive response to a world in which there are no facts but only interpretations.

Keywords:

post-Christian, friendship, politics
