Christianity's Adaptation to and Promotion of Societies: Focusing on its Relationship to the Economic and Political Institutions of Capitalist Society

Abstract:
Marxism asserts that all ideologies must adapt to the economic infrastructures of society, and will subsequently impact the historical development of economies and societies. From his research into the history of early Christianity, F.Engles pointed out that Christianity shared something in common with socialism. As born out by historical data, especially with reference to Christianity’s relationship to economic and political institutions in capitalist societies, this article argues that Christianity is highly adaptable to and capable of promoting the better development of various human societies in different historical stages.
