Searching for the Lost Martin Luther in the History of Thought:A Summary of the Translation Seminar on The Works of Martin Luther

Abstract:

On 16 December 2020, Shanghai University held the “Founding Ceremony of the Sino-European Center of Shanghai University and Seminar on the Translation of the Collected Works of Martin Luther” under the title of “Searching for the Missing Person Martin Luther in the History of Thought.” The Conference was held in a combination of online and offline formats, with more than 350 participants. The seminar was organized around five themes: the holistic value of Luther, the historical and sociological value of Luther, and the philosophical and cultural value of Luther. This review tries to summarize the important speeches shared at the seminar.
